Prestigious ECHO Klassik for Roberto Paternostro and the ICO
Roberto Paternostro and the ICO will receive the prestigious ECHO Klassik award on October 14, 2012 at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
In July 2011 Roberto Paternostro and the Israel Chamber Orchestra performed in Bayreuth - as the first Israeli orchestra and despite protests against Wagner's music in Israel.
The decision to play Wagner's music in Bayreuth was considered by the jury to be bridge building and overcoming boundaries.
Therefore the special prize of the ECHO Klassik award 2012 will be given to Roberto Paternostro and the Israel Chamber Orchestra.
